Obituary for Charles D. Baker
Charles David Baker, of Buckingham, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 15th, 2017. He was 79. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Leon and Mary Kathleen Baker. Charles served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division and had been Self-employed in Staffing Industry. Charles served on the Central Bucks School Board both as member and president. He also was a member of the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce and Board member of Middle Bucks Technical School. He enjoyed volunteering at the Buckingham Friends Meeting House, politics, reading, and any excuse to travel to Florida and not shovel snow in the winter.
He is survived by his three sons Jason (Fort Mill, SC), Zachary (Fountainville PA) and Matthew (Paoli PA). He was the brother of Barbara Hartnett (Kirkwood PA), Douglas (New Britain PA) and David Baker (Buckingham PA). He is also survived by his 2 grandchildren, Emma and Morgan Baker of Fort Mill, SC.
Charles’s memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, June 26, at the Newtown Friends Meetinghouse - 219 Court Street, Newtown PA 18940. Internment will immediately follow at the Meeting House’s cemetery.
