Deanna (Dee) Tropea went home to the Lord on Monday, September 25th at 11:25 PM. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing.
Born September 4th, 1937 to Robert and Mary Tropea, in Philadelphia, PA, Dee spent nearly 40 years as a resident of Quakertown. She belonged to the First United Methodist Church of Perkasie and was an active member in their JOY Circle.
Dee earned her degree in Medical Technology from Temple University. Her career included lab work at Abbington Memorial Hospital, Grand View Hospital, and Smith Kline Laboratories. During her 20 years at Grand View she rose to the role of manager for the Special Chemistry Department.
Dee loved to sing and was a very active member in Sweet Adelines International, belonging to numerous choruses and quartets over a span of 50 years. She also enjoyed helping others through her time spent teaching a Freedom from Smoking class as well as volunteering for the No One Dies Alone program, both at Grand View Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shana and Skye Perry of Sedalia, CO; grandchildren Joshua (13), Hannah (12), and Josephina (9); loving sister Lorraine (Al) Hahn of Ivyland; nieces Lisa (Craig) Verani of Warminster and Jennifer (Bill) Linwood of Ivyland; nephew Jeff (Carol) Hahn of Sellersville; 4 great nieces; 4 great nephews; her dear friend Carol Burghardt; and her beloved cat, Sonny.
Dee’s memorial service will be held at 2:30 on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church of Perkasie The family will receive friends from 1:30 until the time of service at the Church. Interment will be private.
